THE BLACK DOT and WEARING SOCKS WITH SHEEPSKIN
The Black Dot
One day, a professor entered his classroom and asked his students to prepare for a surprise test. They all waited anxiously at their desks for the exam to begin.
The professor handed out the exams with the text facing down, as usual. Once he handed them all out, he asked the students to turn over the papers.
To everyone’s surprise, there were no questions — just a black dot in the center of the paper.
The professor, seeing the expression on everyone’s faces, told them the following: “I want you to write about what you see there.”
The students, confused, got started on this odd task.
At the end of the class, the professor took all the exams and started reading each one of them out loud in front of all the students.
All of them, without exception, defined the black dot, trying to explain its position in the center of the sheet.
After all had been read, the classroom silent, the professor spoke.
“I’m not going to grade you on this,” he said. “I just wanted to give you something to think about. No one wrote about the white part of the paper. Everyone focused on the black dot – and the same thing happens in our lives. We insist on focusing only on the black dot – the health issues that bother us, the lack of money, the complicated relationship with a family member, the disappointment with a friend. The dark spots are very small when compared to everything we have in our lives, but they are the ones that pollute our minds.
“Take your eyes away from the black dots in your lives. Enjoy each one of your blessings, each moment that life gives you. Be happy and live a life filled with love.”
Hope you enjoyed the story above and look at the good in your life.
The question I get asked the most when selling sheepskin slippers is can I wear my slippers with socks?
The purest users say, no, they need to be worn barefooted; but, I say it's your choice.
I wear them barefooted in the morning but once I put my shoes on for the day and leave the house and come back my shoes are off at the door and my slippers are back on. To take off my socks every time I remove my shoes would be quite annoying.
But if you so decide to wear them bare-footed you will not be disappointed for sheepskin is a natural ventilator. They will keep your feet warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Sheepskin boots were first worn in Australia by surfers during the 1960's to slip on after a little fun on the water. They have since been thought of the ultimate house slipper and boot. Below is a picture of the original surfer ugg boot.
Now, if you do wear them barefooted, no worries since the wool fibers are still on the skin you get the benefit of lanolin that is in the skin. This lanolin kills bacteria and dust mites keeping your slippers or boots order free.
So enjoy them however you desire.
